Shear \& Moment Diagrams Problems

 Draw the shear and moment diagrams for the cantilever beam. 

\( +\uparrow \sum F _y=0 \)
\( A _y-(4)=0 \quad \longrightarrow \quad ∴ A_ y=u \quad k N \uparrow \)

\( \sum M_{A}=0 \)

\( M_{A}-(4)(1) -6=0 \longrightarrow ∴ M_{A}=10 \mathrm{kN} \cdot \mathrm{m} \)

\(\stackrel{+}\rightarrow F_{x}=0 \quad \longrightarrow \quad A _x=0\)

Draw the shear and moment diagrams for the  beam.

\(\sum M_{B}=0 \)

\( \left(\frac{1}{2}\right)(10)(3)(2)+(10)(3)(4.5)+(10)(3)-A _y(6)=0 \)

\(∴ A _y=32.5 k N \uparrow\)

\( +\uparrow \sum F _y=0 \)

\( (32.5)-(10)(3)-10-\frac{1}{2}(101(3)+B _y=0 \)

\(∴ B_ y=22.5 \mathrm{kN} \uparrow\)

\( M_{\max }=(2 \cdot 5+3)+\frac{1}{2}(3)(32.5-2 \cdot 5) \)
